Add the whole packet of soil to a bowl & mix the soil with warm water to moisten it - be careful not to oversaturate. Start with a few tablespoons and if the soil is still pretty dry, add additional tablespoons until all of the soil is moistened.
Set aside about 2-3 TB of the moistened soil, add the rest of the soil to the planter.
Spread the entire packet of seeds in an even layer over the soil in the planter - this will ensure a dense growth of Cat Grass
Cover the seeds with the remaining 2-3 TB of moistened soil and pat gently.
Place the planter in a warm area away from direct sunlight, but not in complete darkness, which can cause mold
From planting onward, check moisture daily and keep the soil moist (but do not over water). Misting the soil with a small spray bottle works great to keep the soil damp! If using a watering cup or tablespoon, usually 3 TB will do the trick, but if the planter is light when you pick it up, drizzle a little more.
After the sprouts start to appear, move the planter to a sunny location
After the seeds have sprouted, add 3-5 TB of water every other day. If the climate is hot and dry, it may need water more often. If the climate is humid or cooler, it might need water less often.
When grass reaches 4-5,” it is ready to give to your pet!
